Movement, posture analysis, breathwork, readings, meditation.
adapting is our nature
We are not fixed things. Immovable, solid, anchored entities.
When we are strong, balanced, and flexible our structure adapts.
At least it can when we learn to listen.
learning to listen
This is what yoga is really about.
In an effort to to heal and find neutral again, we listen through movement and fill it with breath to “hear” what our bodies are trying to say so we can adjust where needed.
Practicing this in class in the hopes that it will eventually carry over into everyday life and become how we handle all resistance. Through listening and identifying where it lives and its triggers, we can begin to eliminate our habitual holding.
Resistance causes friction, friction causes pain.
When we allow our breath to wind through the body on a journey of sensation we learn what we need to know. The question becomes are you willing to slow down, reflect, and intend? Integration demands it.
A long list of benefits
Yoga has a long list of health and wellness benefits. It can improve your balance, flexibility, strength, mobility, mood, quality of life, range of motion, reflexes, and thinking skills. It also reduce pain and your risk of falls and is ideal for people who struggle with balance or have recovered from surgery or an injury that may affect stability.
Poses also can be modified and done from a chair. Participants are encouraged to honor the body they brought with them knowing that we are different day to day.
